Description:
Our client is leading the design, development and fabrication of affordable and innovative launch vehicles, microsatellites, spacecraft components, and deployable space structures. Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership (including fluid flow expertise) to our propulsion and spacecraft systems.
Responsibilities:
The person in this position will work on the entire program life cycle of our spacecraft and propulsion systems: pre-design, proposal development, requirements definition, detailed design, analysis, integration, testing, and support. This person will take a lead role in conducting fluid flow analyses on our propulsion systems.
Requirements for this position:
- BS or MS degree in Engineering
- Extensive experience designing and developing space-related hardware
- Excellent knowledge of fluid dynamics; experience conducting fluids analyses on space-related systems
- Strong Pro/E skills/knowledge
- Strong communication skills and ability to prioritize/multitask are important for this position

aerodynamics engineer
Description
Honda Performance Development, Inc., a leader in motorsports racing, is seeking a highly organized and detailed oriented Aerodynamics Engineer to join its Racing program in Santa Clarita, Ca.
Responsibilities include assisting in developing and utilizing tools and techniques to optimize the aerodynamic performance of chassis components. The position will require heavy traveling to the wind tunnel tests, race team shops, races, track tests, and vendor visits.
Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Masters Degree preferred with some experience with wind tunnel testing. Must have 3-5 years experience utilizing CFD and CAD, evaluation, signoff, and implementation procedures for development racing components and previous scale wind tunnel model with associated jigs & fixture development experience. Previous race car with aerodynamic ground effects engineering experience; technical report writing and project management experience preferred.
Must have the ability to work under minimal supervision in team environment and be self-directed, detailed oriented who can effectively work well under pressure in a diverse environment

The Reacting Flow Research Department at Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, California, is engaged in fundamental and applied research in combustion and other reacting flows. The research activities include experimental laser diagnostic studies as well as computational modeling and simulation. The successful candidate will work as part of a research team, will conduct independent research under the mentorship of technical staff at the CRF, and will be expected to publish their results in the open literature. | Qualified candidates should possess a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or related physical sciences field, along with experience in turbulent combustion and numerical simulation of reacting flows. Candidates should possess a demonstrated ability to make original contributions to the science of combustion simulation. Candidates should have experience in the area of LES and development of related subgrid-scale models, as well as experience in the use of complex massively-parallel CFD codes and in applying these codes on distributed computer systems. Knowledge related to internal combustion engines, gas turbines, liquid rockets, and the key phenomenological processes associated with these devices are also desirable. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary research team are required. |

The senior computational analyst (SCA) at NEA is responsible for executing client-sponsored engineering projects, including planning and organization, engineering analysis, interim reporting, and technical writing. The technical scope of these projects covers all aspects of fuel quality impacts in pulverized fuel (p. f.) power production technology, both existing and advanced. The SCA will routinely develop reaction mechanisms and software packages that describe selected aspects of p. f.-fired utility furnaces, pyrolysis units, and gasification systems, and various aspects of emissions control technology for NOX, Hg, alkali vapors, and particulates. The SCA is responsible for preparing oral and written progress reports, manuals for software applications, and final technical reports. NEA’s findings are often published in open literature.

| All candidates for SCA must have a doctorate in either chemical or mechanical engineering or in applied or physical chemistry. They must also have at least three-years experience in the computational analysis of reacting flows, detailed reaction mechanisms, or reaction engineering. Hands-on experience with thermochemical equilibrium and chemical kinetics solvers (CHEMKIN), and libraries of mathematical subroutines (IMSL) is essential.
